Potential AT tyre for my 20” alloys in 265/50/20 (OE 255/55/20)

I appreciate GG AT3 do 255/55/20 but the poor reviews for on road use really worry me.

Iv got gg at3 on my ff I have no issues what so ever on or off road.

I had them on a Ford Explorer with no problems. Very deep tread compared to other tyres.

I am using General Grabber AT3s and am very happy with them.

Another tick in the box for the General Grabber AT3.

OK - they were on my Disco 5 - size was 255/55 R20 - worked really well.
Just out of interest I see they now do this same tyre (GG AT3) in size 275/45 R21.

As and when these are what I will be going for -

I guess that for every negative comment about GGAT3 there will be an equal amount of positive comments

I’ve got 275/45x20 Grabber AT3s on my 3.6 and can’t fault them. I’m not sure what anyone can criticise them for, they grip well in all conditions, are amazingly quiet on road and after 15k miles they look to have at least another 10 to 15k in them. What more could you ask of an AT tyre?

We have had 3 sets of the GG,s and still have a set on a 4x4, we also have a set of the Cooper AT3’s - I prefer the Coopers as they are quieter. The tread of the Coopers also looks slightly more aggressive. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

It is, I run a 3.6 & 4.4 TDV8, the 3.6 has AT3s all year and I use scorpion verde/Cooper weather masters for summer/winter on the 4.4. When the time comes I’ll be fitting a set of AT3s to the 4.4 even though it rarely goes off road.
TBH I find it hard to believe that any halfway competent driver would struggle to find grip on road with a Range Rover on anything but the very cheapest ditchfinders fitted.
Ps I don’t drive slowly.

No the 265’s are too small 275/55 are an 1” in dia more than std - ideally you need 275/50 which are slightly under size or 285/50 which are slightly over size

I had these on my last car a Nissan Navara TDV6. they were great and lasted ages i put 30,000 miles on them they still had loads of meat left but do not let that fool you. I would say the wet grip started fading away after 25k just before i got rid of the car i would say they were getting to the point i was going to change them as the wet handling was getting worse and i had to keep messing with Tyre pressure to get them right.

they were quiet on the road and did not affect my MPG, they were also great off road and on wet grass when trying to maneuver my large twin axle caravan. they are sensitive to correct tyre pressure so make sure you check them regularly especially when the seasons change from warm to cold (Mine lost almost 10 PSI this year within a couple of weeks).

I would defiantly recommend them, but do not expect them to handle like a summer Pirelli or my chosen tyre a Nexen Nfera as they have to do too much. they are a 40% off road and 60% on road so if you do a combination or live / work in remote places they are great.
