Tdv8 no start

hi, any help appreciated.
My 2010 Tdv8 will unlock and radio etc works and also the dash screen is on the sunset screensaver but when I press the start button the screen doesn't change to the dials screen for ignition. The engine doesn't even attempt to crank, no noises at all or warning messages about the key not present.
Is this a faulty start button? As nothing is happening or is this a battery fault?
Has anyone had this issue?

If you've got a 'second' key....try that. That will/could eliminate the battery inside the key fob.
Then you need a meter across the main battery to see what she says.
That's all I can come up with so far, sorry. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

OK, that's eliminated the keys then! Smile
You could try a 'hard reset' which I believe [emphasis on the word believe] is disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes & reconnect.
The sequence for starting the car is.....foot on brake & push start button. If you don't touch the brake & merely push the start button, which in theory should just give you 'ignition' the dash should change? If nothing different happens, it could be the stop/start button.
I've had a quick 'google' & this appears to be fairly common on Land Rovers of various guises. Consensus of option is, that if you push the button enough times it will eventually start.

Running out of ideas, sorry. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

If you put your headlights on & they're bright, you can possibly discount an undercharged battery?
It's intriguing that's for sure. Keep us posted Smile 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

IIRC the hard reset is
Switch off the car and let it go to sleep.
Remove both battery leads in the correct order, wait a few minutes and then touch the leads to each other for several seconds, NOT the battery.
Reconnect the leads in the correct order.

If it does turn out to be the engine start button, then this thread is great for replacement info. (Thanks to Simon, TTB)

Make sure the battery is fully charged.

My battery is about 5 years old and if it is not used or charged weekly I find It will not start the engine. Don't even get a click off the starter or any errors 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

So eventually found the time to time to try and fix the my problem during daylight hours this weekend.
But by now the car wouldn't unlock, so all pointed to the vehicle batter being flat, which it was and now replaced.
The only problem in the meantime is that I have no key blades to unlock the vehicle, absolutely typical!!
An auto locksmith came out and broke into the car for me to enable me to change the battery.
I asked him to cut me 2 key blades for my keys, he has been struggling to do so due to the splines in the passenger door lock being plastic and most probably deteriorated over time due to lack of use, as only used in emergency scenarios such as this.
So my next question is does anyone know where I can source a new door lock barrel unit ? Pic attached
