Loose panel - help!

When washing the FF, I noticed that the panel in front of the osf door, behind the mudflap seem to be poking out. I don't know if this is just a broken clip or whether something more substantial is required. Any thoughts, anyone? Forgive sideways picture!

Answering my own question (so embarrassed to have no responses Embarassed ), it is held in by clips - attached to another plastic mounting plate. I will try and disassemble to see whether something has snapped off.

I think there is a bolt that goes downwards through the top edge. Might need to undo the side vent to see it. If it’s not a bolt it’s a screw.

I wonder if a gentle whack will re-locate the clips that hold it on?

That looks like the clips have popped out. I had to take a load of trim off when I removed my side steps and had to re-align a load of the clips to get the trim to fit snugly back on. Suggest you prise off with a trim tool and take a look, just check for any screws (maybe in the wheel arch) before prising off. Thumbs Up SDV8 AB MY 2019

To be honest, apply a little bit of pressure to the top edge of the panel and centre of the panel and see if that helps.

If not, its not a nice job, to really see whats going on you're into a lot of pain as you've got mudflaps and you'll need to take the wheel off, remove the wheel arch liner, remove the mudflap, swear a lot and finally pop the painted panel off.

There's 2 red fir tree fasteners, a bolt and white nylon rivet that expands (closest to the door edge), my guess is its the white nylon rivet has popped out or the red plastic fitting has broken. The red fittings seem to be sacrificial and the top breaks off them and getting the remains out is a pain. The part number is LEYC000202 36p each. The white rivet you can pull the centre out with a right angled pick.

Hopefully the picture below will help.

Reassembly is the reverse. Big Cry

Cheers

Mark

Thank you so much - this is so helpful. I got nowhere with the brute force approach and will now follow your eminently cautious and sensible approach. Bow down
