Speed Camera Alerts

I think the answer is going to be not possible but I will ask anyway.
For me the alert for Speed Cameras is greyed out (German Market)...
Is there a way to enable it?

is that something the IID tool will be able todo one day possibly... SDV8 AB MY 2020

i think you have to load the speed camera poi's to get them onto the nav..

they need to be purchased from a poi subscription site .. ... - .- -.

I’m wondering whether it is because yours is German and it’s “illegal” in Germany if I recall correctly.

Perhaps you can reprogram the car for a different region using IID but I don’t know what other side effects that may bring. For example traffic information updates etc.

I do have the speed displayed but the more info the better... but even when I am not in Germany I don’t have this option... I will see what iIDTool can do in the future...

Has anyone with this option ever driving in Germany? Did it display anything? SDV8 AB MY 2020

I used to have speed cameras on mine. As Stan says, they were uploaded as custom POI's

They came from PocketGPSWorld and required a subscription. The instructions were the Jaguar ones.

You download the data to a USB & then upload to the car as POI's - a bit of a faff but worked OK.

These days I just use Waze - which is better & worse - more up to date in the UK, but in France, where it's illegal, they get wiped regularly and put back by other users as reports of Police activity, so there are periods where they are missing and therefore cannot be relied upon....

As an alternative the speed camera reporting on the TomTom app, which is Apple CarPlay enabled, works fine across France and Spain. I have not used it in Germany. MY23 D350 HSE

As Alistair says, location of speed cameras is illegal in France. However location of danger areas or blackspots (for want of a better description) is allowed. Fixed speed cameras are usually sited in such areas so when approaching a speed camera a short distance away you get an announcement that "you are entering an average speed detection zone".

Probably stretching the law a bit. Confused John

The best app for road incidents and prevention is Waze. As I don't have CarPlay, where it works like a treat, I use a cheap Lenovo tablet with a sim card and Waze... I am saying this because, during a trip to Greece this summer, I used both the Here maps from Land Rover and Waze, and, besides taking me to the wrong address, the Here navigation almost never displayed speed cams... 2019 Vogue P400e
