United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Baltic Blue
2012 Westie with failed battery

Hi guys

Having left my 2012 Westminster for about 10 days without any use greeted this morning with the doors not unlocking and once access gained inside popped the bonnet to find only 4.4v at the battery, so clearly dead although had no warning this was about to happen to be fair.

There's already some great advice on here (as usual!) about swapping out the battery which I'm happy to do but the actual battery to go for looks to be a bit of a minefield with so many options.

Mine looks to be a OEM Land Rover fit and has AGM/VRLA/MF with the code of CX23-10655-AB so was wondering what the preferred options are at the moment?

Found this which looks a good buy: https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/exide/ek950/ and wondered if anyone else had tried this?

Many thanks

That seems to be an AGM 017 -- you need an AGM 019 Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Oh yes, good spot!

I followed the link from the Tayna list of AGM 019 batteries... Rolling Eyes Shocked This might not be any good then and perhaps hence the price amongst other more expensive options although its dimensions suggest it is the right size.

I'm sure we all have our own views on different batteries -- I'd go with Yuassa -- 4 yr warranty -- don't forget to tell the car it has a new battery installed Wink Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Why not buy a genuine LR battery, part no LR094642. I have just bought one on eBay from a LR parts supplier,
name: FARNELLJLR (134). Date of manufacture was week 1 October 2020. Cost: £151.33 + £5 postage. Arrived in 2 days from Leeds. Thumbs Up

That does sound like a good option, thank you.

...and i notice that other pics of this battery when searching under that LR part number have 'Exide' on them so i wonder what the difference is apart from a Jaguar/Land Rover sticker on it Rolling with laughter

I fitted a exide ek950 to our 4.4 tdv8 last year
never had a problem starting fitted battery tray perfectly as same size as original battery
plus only use car to drive 1ml to work every day use fbh when cold, auto lights on every time car run
so would say best battery for money you can get
