Hi Stan, I did see it but it’s mostly heard for the slightly older version I’ve got the 2016 model AB
The advert i saw was keeping the existing head unit and achieved by adding something, all the previous features like dual view are retained.
Sounds great but was £580 2010 defender utility

When you say "the upgrade", which one? NaviPlus?

There's a few of us have fitted the NaviPlus to L322's, it's the same basic kit for L322 and L405 so we can probably offer opinions on the non-L405 specific bit of it Smile

My thoughts too! It’s nice to have and around £250/300 would be about right.

Would be nice to hear from someone who has this 2010 defender utility

If I'm not mistaken, I think you will loose your original Navigation with that setup...it seems very similar to the NaVTool which uses the factory Navigation button for CarPlay/Android Auto. The factory navigation is a good feature to have available if you're out in the wild and your phone looses signal.

The 10.25" Android unit actually retains your factory navigation and all of your other factory features except the dual view. Please do your research before you purchase.

If it's using the NetPlay box (like the NaviPlus does), then you can program it to respond to whichever of the buttons you want to use.

So in theory at least, you can swap it from the Nav button to something else (like the "hang up" button used as default in the NaviPlus install).

Probably worth checking with the installer!

Can anyone shine a light- LR apparently offers a complimentary update for 2016-2018 to enable apple carplay, but nowhere can I find which models are eligible. I have the same system by the looks of it as Stan (with the touch-buttons on the sides) in my 2016 RR- would the LR update be available?

From LR website: “The latest software comes as standard when buying a new Land Rover but some models from 2016–2018 are also eligible.”

Ty!
