Glad to hear you've got it - hope it's all good! Razz

Actually, when doing searches on items like this I try to use terms that are 'generic' yet still narrow the search with other more specific terms (I believe I used Range+Steering+L322). That way you get the people with incorrect titles and, maybe, a deal yet don't have to spend 2 hrs sifting through junk. Cool

A day later then i had expected, due to the idiot i bought the column from, but it is now repaired, and how pleased i am. So a big thanks to Stevem who found my new column on flea bay. A double big big thanks to Dan who not only guided me through it but gave me the contact details of his fitter, who is in my opinion mustard. And at the same time he fitted my new steering wheel. Have booked the car in with him to do both rear bushes and at the same time new discs and pads.

And on the drive back i was registering 33.7 mpg at a constant 70 mph numbers i have never seen before. Thumbs Up

Oh nuts, the very same has just happened to my 2002. I made a call to my local dealer in the the hopes that they might offer to meet some of the cost but they will only honour warenty work.

I can only give you the advice the boys gave me Pilot, trawl through fleabay.

Mine was advertised as a steering wheel but on the add pic it was attached to the column complete with switches and both motors. I paid £150 and with Dans fitter paid £50 to have it fitted A result.

Since then its been great. Thumbs Up

Decided to attack the little devil today,
Moved the steering tilt to where I like it, then unplugged the motor. There is no play up or down in the column and the telescopic function works normally in memory and manually. With no cost I'm quite happy.

If people are taking your old broken columns in exchange, they obviously must be repairable, so why isn't anyone offering a repair service instead of replacement service. Or am I missing something? No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE

I think I may well do the same anything to watch out for? Obviously a little concerned that the control box might push out move signals but as I have it set near the top I see no downside to disconnecting. Geoff
