I finally received my AAWireless adaptor last week and plugged it in today. Works fine so far and auto connects my android handset wirelessly as I enter the vehicle and gives me full touch screen functionality for all Android Auto apps. I'll give it a proper test over the next few weeks and report back.

A couple of pics attached to show its size, I will look out for a much shorter USB cable to tidy it up a bit or look for a solution to hide it away under the USB / SIM block.
