England 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Zermatt Silver
Out with the old - In with the new

After 7 ½ Happy years (When not parked up at the side of the road waiting to be recovered) together I felt the time had come for a change. So I started the search for a newer model than my 2004 Vogue. When I started looking I felt a bit like I was cheating on her. She went up for sale but wasn’t sure I could part with her.

But when the search began I didn’t realise how difficult it would be. I got a bit disillusioned with how some people treat these expensive beautiful cars and I realised the old girl was in much better condition than some of the new ones.

The day came when someone wanted to take the old one away and whilst my heart wanted to keep her, my head said there was no way I could afford to maintain two of them! So she went on a Monday and by Thursday I was getting severe withdrawal symptoms. They are definitely an addiction. On the Sunday I went to look at a 2012 4.4TDV8 Westminster and whilst above budget I couldn’t help myself! And so now a whole new era of pain and heartache begins as well as some fun hopefully. It's such an improved drive and loving the 4.4 engine. Very happy with the upgrade so far.

She has had a good clean inside and out. Clearly children and horses had been involved!
Thanks to the forum for a recommendation of the magic eraser sponges. The buckets of brown water from the leather seats and interior was crazy.
Tow bar removed and plug fitted (Thanks Rimmer Brothers)
Rusty wheel nuts including locking ones removed (Thanks to the forum for pointing me in the direction of Wrington Engineering)
New battery fitted. Thanks for all the help and guidance on here and in the Wiki pages to fit it
Small area of rust and dent to tailgate sorted (It was pleasing for the guy to say how clean the interior was and it looked like the rear seats had hardly been used!)
New alloy wheels purchased but not fitted yet.
Goes in in January to have a new panel of leather to the drivers seat side where it is showing some wear.
Fingers crossed now for no major expense for the next 12 months which is probably the kiss of death!

I know. I looked at other colours but came back to silver. Just seemed to be very few for sale when I was looking. If I wanted black there was plenty of choice but black ones just didnt do it for me!

Very nice.

I like my black AB but it's an absolute swine to keep clean!

Dunc. The life you have is the only one you'll get; make the most of it.

I'm interested to know what wheels you have ordered. My AB came with westminster wheels and they are a pain to clean.

England 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Zermatt Silver

Sorry KevinP for delayed response. Havent been on in a while! I think they are off an L405 model. CK52-1007-DA 255/55/20. As you say the Westminster wheels are a pain to clean. I really like the look of these on her. (More refined/less blingy) I dont have a current pic but these are from a while back as not currently snowing in sunny Buckinghamshire!

She now needs an oil leak repair. Oil cooler the grarage says, which I believe is a common fault and Drivers heated/cooled seat not working. £800 to repair that, almost all in parts. May have to have a hot bottom in summer and a cold one in winter!

You say faith I say addiction! I do just love looking at her, which is probably the cheapest option!
