Odd one,

02 td6 was in the garage last week after the low pressure fuel pump gave up the ghost. With the wallet significantly lighter as i got. a full service and an arm and joint replaced as well I set out on journey today.

The air-suspension at first refused to raise, then i got an error saying don't exceed 35mph. I cleared this with handheld device.

The car is now showing no faults but the air suspension won't raise or lower, it wouldn't even go into motorway version. I have tried lock to lock, everything but so far no luck.

Tomorrow I'll try hard reset by shorting the battery and see where that gets me.

All and any suggestions welcome.

Quick update, front appears to be down while the back is up and on start up I have self leveling suspension fault do not exceed 35mph

Could be one of front height sensors gone whatsit or even the link arm broken, you could try disconnecting link arm from suspension and moving sensor up and down a bit to clear the track, what code reader have you got.

It looks like bad news on hoping that it was just a sensor. After looking at the data streams the voltage to 3 of the wheels was 2v or 3v and then the front left is pulling in a staggering 50v!

Compressor is also overheating on both fulling and maintenance. I suppose the good news is that the compressor does seem to work, just being a little overworked.

I'm guessing front left bag is at fault, that is where the worn joint was replaced as well.

Has the garage who changed the arm either:

a) not re-attached the height sensor to the lower arm, or b) spun the sensor arm around - I seem to recall it's possible to re-attach them the wrong way around.

Yep arm was changed. It would be great if that was the issue. Although i think looking at the power going to each bag, that it is unlikely

I would think the voltages you are reading are the output from the height sensors? The only other value would be the supply vopltage to the height sensors. The ones that matter in this case would be the sensor output which varies with height adjustment.

Have a quick look at the left front sensor and see if it's connected to the lower arm correctly, or (as someone else has said) if the rod is broken in any way.
