United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Galway Green
Is this really the best car ever made?

Hi Folks, as a Range Rover owner over the years I now own 2011, L322 Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8. It's in Galway green with sand beige leather interior, with deployable side steps It has the heated and cooling seats and automatic brake assist when on. cruise mode.

I was stopped by a guy in Waitrose carpark who enthusiastically asked me if I realised I had the most sought after 4 x 4 ever and apparently in the perfect model and colour combination.
I know I love it and will never sell it but hadn't realised that it was that sought after.

Whilst I was flattered by his comments but would like the views of you guys who I respect and class as the real experts.

Regardless of colour, the L322 4.4 TDV8 is absolutely the best Range Rover ever! It's also the last 'proper' Range Rover..... Whistle

Later vehicles bearing the RR moniker are undoubtedly better 'cars', but I've already got a few cars, so that's never bothered me. Wink The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

"The best car ever made" ?

No, because it says Land Rover on it.

Having said that, I can't seem to be long before there's another one on the drive, marking its spot Rolling Eyes Laughing

They are the best English cars ever made though !

And the interior of the L322 is by far the nicest I've ever experienced on any car I've been in !

I loved my Tonga Green L322 4.2SC so I sort of get it...but the 5.0SC was "better" and the L405 SVAD better still. I've never been a fan of the oil burners so could never class one as "the best car ever made" - but would certainly go alone with the best car ever made thing for the FFRR generically. Mike - MPx

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Baltic Blue

My car ownership over the last 30+ years shows how I have got through the various versions of fatties, but I just can’t justify thinking of moving on from my 2011 4.4 tdV8 VSE to the L405 because it still gives me that special buzz everyday I use it and still looks as good as the day I bought it 9 years ago, plus my trusted local independent LR specialist garage owner says mine is a much better car than a later model 405 because of the number arriving at his garage with major failures, engines both 3l and 4.4 are common, whereas he sees no reason mine will not keep going for years.

I purchased my 2012 Westminster in January 2023. It was a bucket list purchase and had to be a late L322 low miles 4.4tdv8 in grey with black leather. I absolutely love it. I have done routine maintenace of fluid changes and apart from that, it has just been the noisy blower motor and vent motors clicking behind the passenger side of the dash. Oh and the headlight washer pump. It's so good I only put 2000 miles on my F10 M5 last year. I need to use it a little more.

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Causeway Grey

I went to look at an Aintree Green L322 4.4 TDV8 with Cream leather.

What I thought was my ideal spec.

Came home with an L405 4.4 SDV8 in grey.

For me the L405 is the better car, however the L322 retains the iconic looks.

In over 30000 miles use (I bought mine on 58k), at a lifetime average economy of >25mpg, and 35mpg attainable on a long run it is the perfect car.

I will only change it to buy a younger Range Rover, and only when it has died.

Here's to the next 100k miles.

Prefer the aspen green interior to the sand. (looks greener in real life. Pics are too grey).

Ireland 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

I've gone from a JDM Pajero to Disco 3 basic spec to a 2012 Westie. Though the silver colour would not be my choice I have really grown to appreciate the black interior and piano black trim, all I'm missing is the black headliner. I've been searching for my next one and I just cant find myself liking the brighter interiors but then again I use mine as a work vehicle so Id destroyed the ivory or beige.

It is by far one of the best cars I have owned and I have a few nice modern classics. For me its a work van and I also use it for personal journeys. I often say to people, if you have to have a van, have the nicest one possible. I meet guys on the road all the time in a box van looking miserable and tired and I'm there floating on air with the sunroof open and the tunes blasting.

I think my long term plan is to do the same as what I did with the disco, replace all fluids, replace all maintenance parts, underseal with rust bullet and keep the car tuned. At least that way Ill get many years of service and when I do sell the next guy will be buying a well looked after car. Current yokes

I think the late 4.4SDV8 322 is the best Rangie ever made BUT, I think the 4.4SDV8 405 is the better daily driver for sure...

Just my 2p worth... Thumbs Up
