What do you mean by a short flash from the parking brake? |

Just that really. It went on for perhaps a second, and then went off with everything else.

Could quite easily be an alternator failure... Im guessing the battery light was not illuminated whilst you sat there allowing the car to warm up? |

That’s the thing, everything was looking normal. There was no warning, just instant shutdown. The engine had been running for perhaps a minute or so. |

The only thing to do is put a fresh (charged) battery on her, then check the charge rate is climbing above 14v... Thats the place to start sir... |

I am hoping that it is just the alternator too. I had to have the battery replaced 18 months ago because the previous one failed as well.

Thank you gentlemen, my mind is a bit more settled than it was when it happened. Then I was in full on gutter language mode and bouncing off the ceiling!!

If you have a battery charger it would be worth trying to charge the battery, if you were able to do this your car should go back to normal for a while at least.

Will give that a try. Thanks for the advice, and let’s hope it’s a cheap fix. 👍🏻 |
