Do the new letters not come with one ?

Mine did, but it had incorrect spacing, even so, I was able to use it with some adjustment but could have made my own.

Basically take a piece of card (or even paper) and cut squares in it the size of the letters. Hold it in place & use masking tape along the top edge. You can then lift it up out of the way to remove the letters and clean up and then flip back into the exact place once done & ready to fit the new ones.

Mine came with a template, but did not fit the originals. Spent ages cutting & taping the template until it was correct.
However, there is a far simpler way I discovered when thinking about it. Run some good quality tape along the top edge of the letters, then a piece of tape along one vertical or slanted edge. You only need two edges to get them correct. Remove the old letters with some dental floss, any remaining glue, either polish it off or get some kitchen roll soaked in petrol, stick it over the glue, leave for 5 mins then the glue will come off with your finger nail. Polish area clean then wipe with panel wipe or isopropyl alcohol, then stick on your letters. See my pics. First using tape, second using template. I actually used the template then thought about the tape so mocked it up to give a visual
Use decent tape as you don't want it coming adrift when cleaning old residue

Hi Yes they did come with a template but both front and rear were same template so not accounting for curvature of bonnet so template was no good. I thought you might be able to get a template specifically for the bonnet and curvature of it

I just chopped up the template into individual letters & used masking tape to space as I wanted.

Any other template you can buy is just as likely to be wrong.......

Example of how I did mine on my old L322, used AliExpress letters with same dodgy template. Not pictured is I marked below with a sharpie under the letters so I would know exactly where they were (like lines below the edges, I saw this in a wrapping video!)

Used tar remover to get rid of the goo and then a quick polish to remove the old outline. Quick wipe with IPa then added the letters individually to the template ensuring they were straight etc
