wrong fuel

So I just filled the diesel tank with unleaded! I know stupid - saw yellow cap and went for the yellow fill nozzle at station (which is unleaded)
But, cant find the tool to deactivate the inline wrong fuel thing. Plus does anyone know how to drain the fuel out? It's a full tank too!!
Thanks
Mr Stupid.

Get a long screwdriver down the filler neck and move the wrong fuel thing back to its resting place , shine a torch down, its dead easy . The tool is normally in the boot, rhs stuck in the foam beside the spare wheel. If you have one, watch out as they easily break when you turn them.

I think the secret is not to start the car so the (wrong) fuel gets pumped around the system, which will be VERY expensive to fix. There are a few companies who can come to you on the forecourt and suck it out with the minimum of damage.

Sorry, I did not see this sooner as I might have been a help, A mate did the same a few weeks back and I took all my jerry cans to the servo and with an old electric fuel pump and a bit of hose drained his tank. Although not recommended there seems a view that 5% petrol in diesel won't do any harm. We put 10 litres of diesel in the empty tank and drained that before filled with diesel. The car started and ran with zero issues.

Many thanks, I did drive it only for 5kms, however it did start coughing. I'll try emptying the tank and putting some diesel in it and empty again. Thanks everyone. Smile

Probably a silly question but your car description says you have a 2005 4.4 HSE, is that not petrol? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I thought the wrong fuel device was supposed to operate BEFORE you filled the tank up Whistle 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography
