2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

L322 on The Crash Detectives

It’s a bit of a sombre watch in places, but a poor L322 is the focus in one of their investigations.

Not sure if it’s repeated, but it’s on BBC iPlayer from BBC1 last night.

I think it’s episode 4.

I saw that yesterday L322 106mph into a tree. A sobering reminder that inappropriate speed kills, whatever you drive SDV8 AB MY 2019

Yeah.... I don’t think I can get my head round the type of forces that must have been in play there.

Trees are the worst things to hit, no give in them at all.
It did look like someone had put a bomb underneath it

I was hugely surprised when they crash tested a Renault Espace against an older Discovery....

The Disco didn’t come off very well...

Yeah, I saw that one. Might have been Fifth Gear.

The trouble with stuff designed at that time, and particularly with a separate chassis, is that they don’t tend to buckle and absorb the impact like today’s cars, so most of the force is passed on to the occupants of the car....

It’s not ideal if you have a crash and then find a 300tdi engine on your knee....

Quite interesting to see them taking the airbag module to JLR for them to do a "black box" investigation. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

What amazed me the most was it took the police 2 years to realise the lady in the other crash had a massive amount of Tramadol in her blood!

Yeah.... they even had the results for that and missed it. And the tablets were in her car.
