TD6 secondary fuel pump noise?

Hi all

Just recently the secondary fuel pump in Sylvia has become really noisy, akin to a grandfather clock ticking away in the background.

Is this a sign that it is on its way out?

The secondary fuel pump is driven by an electric motor so it is unlikely to make a ticking noise. When they fail they can often be restarted by giving them a knock.
Are you sure it's not the FBH Pump you can hear? This is a pulse type pump which ticks slowly,and is mounted on the subframe above the rear diff

No, it’s definitely the secondary fuel pump under the floor of the rear seat passenger side.
