Probably to give it more differentiation from the 4.4sdv8. No other reason I suspect. the SDv6 is tuned to what they feel like giving it. It’s in several states of tune in the D5 as well, if they gave it 306hp then it would only be 30hp down on the V8 which would cannibalise sales of that engine which is a much higher priced model.
By only giving it 275hp they move it sufficiently away from the sdv8 so it doesn’t affect sales, while giving the car a satisfactory amount of power.
In the RRS there is effectively only one engine, I know they do fit the 4.4, but there aren’t many...So they just throw in different maps on the 3.0 and charge more money for different power outputs..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
