England 2014 Range Rover Autobiography TDV6 Mariana Black

Hi Watty
I fitted a replacement battery myself. Bought the like for like battery from a local shop but cheaper than main dealers.
All was good for two years then the same message came up - low battery warning - start engine after 3 minutes then after 1 minute..... Car start stop system stopped working (some people think this is a good thing Shocked ) The internal light stopped working and other silly little bits were not as they should. I took the car back to the shop and they tested the battery and said it was my car not charging fully. The guarantee on the battery was three years and this was only two years on.

Charging the car every night the car behaved but then the faults started again once I stopped nightly charging hte battery.

I had an issue with my rear brake motors and when I was in getting this diagoised Sad I mentioned about the battery and my garage turned the battery to the car Thumbs Up Everything is back to normal. Even in the cold I can remote warm the car, the start stop and the little gremlins have all gone and its back to normal. Yes you need to have the battery conditioned to the car. Frustrating but what a massive differernce it has made to me.

My 13 4.4 autobiography keeps flagging up battery low start engine. I have changed both batteries not cured. Checking alternator charge 13.5.
any ideas or advice gratefully received

I have spoken to a RR specialist who tells me that in some early rrs up to the facelift this is a common problem, the problem is the alternator does not always charge the battery 100% and the ecu detects this and brings on the warning, he also states that the battery are not low and should never fail to start the vehicle. This is of course that the batteries are in good orderThe problem is more noticeable in the cold weather when the drainige is high and you are not running long enough bring the voltage above the level needed to keep the ecu happy apparently there is no cure 07 Vogue SE Java Black 3.6 TDV8

Hi Watty
After I have taken my RR into a independent deals for the brakes and I had them reset the battery it has been perfect. Thumbs Up

The car behaves perfectly and I have not need to recharge the battery. The start stop works unless the car is in the minus figures for temp. I have used the pre warming function and the car still behaves. They must have done something as the car is back to as it was when I first drive it. Nothing to do with the alternator.
