Ice on headlights

During a long trip this weekend, through some miserable cold weather, I had the unpleasant surprise to find out that the headlights became useless just after one hour… So, I stopped to see if they were dirty. I was amazed to find a good half centimeter of ice glazing on them! Probably because the LED's don’t heat, or don’t heat enough, the ice doesn’t melt and the cleaning jets cannot remove the ice! Did anyone experience this? Is there a solution available? 2019 Vogue P400e

You should contact LR Head Office, I bet they'd love to hear about that after all the cold-weather testing they do on their cars!!! All LR cars from 1984

I've had LED headlights on my last 3 cars and it's a problem.

With the right type and concentration of washer fluid, the washers keep them clear but I do have to make sure they're clean/clear before leaving home when it's really cold. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I made sure before I left they were clean and certainly they had no ice on them! The washers spray only rarely and judging by the amount of ice, they had no chance, even if the washer fluid is hot! Another "clever" design is the charger door in the front grille, it was completely sealed by the ice too! 2019 Vogue P400e

My MY17 L405 solves all of these problems by freezing the doors shut. This means using 15 year Ford Fiesta, which heats up in minutes and headlights are fine.
