Update 12N tow socket to 13 Pin

I have a single 12N tow socket currently fitted, looking to change to 13 pin using this kit from PF Jones:

https://www.pfjones.co.uk/land-rover-range...506pf.html

Whats involved in terms of the coding that may be required?

Thanks

I believe the car electronics check the presence of brake lights on the trailer to trigger the ecu etc.
As your N12 will already have wiring for the trailer brake lights, the ecu will already be set.
Only the pin in the new socket will be different. but the electrical load will remain the same.

A long winded explanation -
If the dashboard repeater works with a N12, it will work with a 'Jaeger' 13 pin without any changes (as I understand things) Forty years of progress. 1972-2012

Thanks, having read the install instructions on the PF Jones website, it suggests coding may not be required for the basic functions, i.e. lights / indicators, but parking sensor disable & rear camera function will need coding, can an iid perform this?

Main purpose is to connect a ctek battery conditioner via a lead from the forum shop, but no option for a 12N socket, hence upgrading.

If / when I do tow, the 13 pin ‘s a better socket as I understand it.

i may be wrong but im sure if you already have 7 pin plug that turns off the reversing sensors etc then the 13 pin plug and play should be exactly the same 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

The 12N supplies the 'normal' lights. The 12S was supplementary for permanent live, fridge, battery charge and Reversing Lights etc.
The centre pins could get bent/worn causing poor/overloaded earth return circuit.
The 13 pin uses multiple earth connections and provides a more secure connection. Forty years of progress. 1972-2012
