L322 19” or 20”

Good afternoon folks. I have a 2012 Westminster running on 20” wheels and AT Grabber tyres. I had an emergency stop a few days ago at about 30mph and was a bit disconcerted by squealing and not very quick stopping. It was a bit damp on a country road. I’m thinking new tyres and maybe changing to 19” wheels. Are 19” ok on the Westminster? The tyres are miles cheaper and the ride shouldn’t better? Any thoughts anyone?

Only one 19" wheel will fit on over the big pot Brembos. Stick with your 20" IMHO 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!
1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie"

Also with 20's you have a good selection of tyres available in 255/55/20 or the older L322 standard 255/50/20.
Spare rims readily available too from L405 and L494s.

Thinking 255/55/20 Pirelli Scorpions.
Unless anyone knows any good alternatives?
I’m not an off-roader!

AT Grabber or any off road or semi off road tyre are a compromise in wet tarmac grip. Get some Pirelli LR specific tyres like 99% of L322 owners. No need for 19" wheels and consider going up a size to 255/55 R20 for a bit more comfort. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I suspect its neither factual or accurate, please prove me wrong 🤔

I use General Grabber AT in 255 55 20. Superb tyres. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I run Grabbers on the Westie with 19" wheels, so I must be the 1% of the 1%!!! Laughing The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Are AT tyres classed as standard spec on an l322 or do you need to let your insurance company know? I am thinking of getting some but if it puts insurance up i will give them a miss. Also own a 1976 Land Rover 101 3.5 V8.
Previously owned 1991 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 V8.

Which 19” wheels do you have on your Westie?
