I've just done the oil and filter on my gearbox with no ill effects.

I bought my service kit from Duckworths Land Rover using the Land Rover part number for the oil. In the service kit I got 7 of these bottles:

No, it was for a 2007 4.2 SC 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Good idea, the shelf life is around 5 years, so yep, get it changed... Pete

I know Smith & Allan are highly regarded and use Shell base stock oils, but I don't know if I'd be brave enough to try this stuff @ £5 / Litre!

Apparently the oil will be to the same specification as the "correct" oil so can be advertised as suitable but....

I’ve used Smith & Allen a lot and their stuff generally seems to be very good.
