Interesting announcement, I guess not too unexpected given the regulations.

I'm more optimistic about the future of the Land Rover brand, less so for Jaguar.

I'd expect the change to electric is going to be much more difficult to do whilst keeping the spirit of a Jaguar, whereas, honestly, I think the idea of putting an electric engine into a Land/Range Rover just makes them more reliable - a quality that the brands perception is arguably lacking...

I think electric Jag's would be fab. They should've done it 10 years ago instead of going down the XE/XF/SUV route, then they'd be a Tesla now instead of a basket case.

Perhaps, though I think Tesla's are a bit overrated personally, they just leave me cold!

But I take your point - a fast electric Jag would maybe be more like a Porsche Taycan, if Jag can do what Porsche has done with the Taycan then maybe they'll be on to something!

I was talking to a friend who is on the design team at JLR and was quite surprised to hear that JLR & Tesla worked together on the i-pace! "so that's why it's so Fast & sort after then"

And if I'm mistaken most are electric, and some even have electric supplemented by hydrogen fuel cells.
