Doing this on a golf or any other hatchback or city car is generally no problem at all. The vehicle makes all the difference. And especially so in combination with the driver. Even dealerships can’t do that anymore as short term drive away insurance.

Yes I'm coming to that conclusion. You would think everything would have a price. Risk/reward but won't even quote. I suppose the wide boys have got on the bandwagon and borrowed a mates car and wrapped it up for the insurance, wouldn't be surprised. Cash for a crash! Sad

I have tried a few on-line Insurance Co's for just one days insurance so that I can test drive a car I am thinking of buying. I'm no spring chicken, more NCD than a saint, and live in a reasonable area. So far, all declined to quote! Do A-plan offer this service?

We do have an option for temporary cover on our website, https://www.aplan.co.uk/personal/motor/rel...ary-cover/

Or if you contact your current insurance (whether that's us or not) sometime you can temporarily add a vehicle to your existing policy.

Thanks and sorry for the delayed reply

Tried A plan,

Nope.

We have been unable to offer you a quote at this time.

We are regularly reviewing our products so we may be able to cover you in the future.

I give up now. Yawn
