Rear screen washer pipe size

My rear screen washer has blocked again for the umpteenth time.
Luckily it was working fine for the MOT two weeks ago, but sadly not today.
I replaced the one way valve a couple of years ago with one from some plant irrigation bits I had, but can’t remember the plastic pipe bore size ??
Does 1.6mm sound right ??
Next size I can see is 3mm .

I'd be looking at why it's blocked - typically it's due to biological matter in the washer bottle (leaf litter etc.) festering and blooming in the pipes. Screenwash won't clear it but a dose of bathroom mould cleaner will break it up, you just need to flush the screenwash reservoir & pipes to clear it out - bearing in mind that the pipes need the cleaner to be in them for some time for it to work.
The problem is caused by the rear screenwash pipes being in the 'warm, but not hot enough to kill the bacteria' cabin on their way to the rear tailgate, whereas the front screenwash picks up heat from the engine bay which is well over the 56 deg. C. required to kill off bacteria.

This got me thinking about my last MOT, I watched the whole thing and chatted to him as he had never MOT'D a range rover!! He never checked the rear screen wash but the guy was very thorough so I would agree with the comment from RangeRoverL322.

I know this does not answer the pipe size question but may help people with the MOT aspect.

I’m no expert, but believe that any feature fitted as standard , such as rear screen wiper, washer, headlamp washers etc. can be given as an advisory or Fail, depending on issue, if they don’t work correctly.

I will be stripping down to investigate my rear washer and tube size later this week.

The 50p option from a garden centre has lasted 2/3 years, just wish I had bought a spare Rolling with laughter

I've just had mine apart as no water was coming out - 1.6mm sounds right. Mine was jammed up at the two jets so cleaned it out with a safety pin and now ok.

Thinking of doing what this guy did.. but be prepared to fill up your washer reservoir frequently Laughing

I have just cleared mine using hot water and a syringe.
The bore of the pipe is actually 4mm, for future reference.

Replaced my arm, one way valve and blade over the last few months to get a clean sweep without streaks. Still can't get the jets to put screenwash exactly where I'd like it but it's better than it was. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The beauty of using the syringe full of hot water to force water through the motor and jets , you can adjust the nozzle with a needle whilst squirting water through without the wiper keep moving.

Point of note Mike - some of the 911 models do come with a rear wiper, on some iterations you had to tick the delete option on the order to avoid it Very Happy
