L405 -2 weeks in and first scare

I've had my AB 2 weeks and this morning got a right fright !

I took a 5 minute journey from cold and as I parked up I wondered why someone was staring at the car, then the clouds of white smoke from near side under bonnet and under car. Serious white smoke, I assume its connected with the FBH. It behaved on the return journey.

Before I use the car again, is this serious ?

I'm aware this could happen on the L322 but not on the L405 and not the volumes of it, I thought there was an underbonnet fire on the way !

just to contradict my previous post, it could be an accumulation of oil in the rear of the engine...

i had this 'smoke' episode in my L322 before the mod and when turning a sharp corner ..hopefully its not this problem on yours. ... - .- -.

Most likely FBH, I would keep an eye on it any see if it does it again. Get the bonnet open and have a look under the car to see if you can tell exactly where it is coming from, I would hazard a guess it’s from the FBH exhaust.

I get similar smoke from my D4 on occasion and did from the 322 as well. not noticed it on the 405 as yet but it hasn’t really moved much over the last few months! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Thats the same conclusion I came to. I have to say though its not from intimate knowledge, just from superficial knowledge.
It was the shear volume of it that shocked me, the smoke and smell was pretty scary. Thats what the onlookers thought too given the stares.

I had this as well. I moved the car forward a few feet from cold and turned off.. Not loads of smoke but still scared the sh*t out of me..
