Is this water ingress?

Been looking into why my TV reception is so flaky and finally got around to pulling out the TV tuner. Everything seems dry in the surrounding area but looking at the main board, I see it covered in parts in something very shiny and I'm not sure if it's a sign of water or if it's meant to be there. Hoping it comes across in the photos. It covers most of the top side and two sections of the bottom side, but seems to be quite uniform along the edges which is what makes me think it's deliberate. It's not wet or sticky, doesn't seem to want to come off with a gentle wipe. Anyone know what this is?

All the wet ones I have seen have looked like they are covered with verdigris, that coating on yours looks like some form of moisture barrier to me...

You do appreciate the TV's are just about useless when you are moving...! Pete

OK thanks for that. Looked a bit neat to be water.

Yeah I know the TVs are pretty much useless on the move, but if I can just get it working properly, along with the FBH, my OCD can STFU and I'll have a 100% working car. Probably just for a few minutes mind you Rolling with laughter 09 RR Westminster 3.6TDV8 - Stornoway Grey / Black interior - now gone (sad face)

Is this actually possible Shocked Every time I complete a job on mine, I get that temporary warm fuzzy feeling. But it doesn't last long because whilst working on it, you ALWAYS spot another bloody thing to add to the list of things to do, or something else you 'Need' to buy Censored OCD doesn't help!

Latest quote from my sarkey neighbours 'Not surprised the mileage is so low, you spend more time spannering than driving it' - 'Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave'

You want to look for white dust deposits (limescale) and green areas where water has reacted with any exposed copper👍
I had a temperature error on mine, cleaned it up with contact cleaner and a toothbrush.

BTW if you have a later iPhone you can use the filters on the magnifier app where the board turns white and any corrosion shows up purple, very handy😄 2011 TDV8 4.4 Vogue SE in Galway Green with Black leather
