Largest possible L405 tyres with smallest possible rims

Hi all,

I have a 2015 SDV8 405, and I’d like to fit the biggest off road tryres I can with the smallest possible diameter wheels…

Could someone advise…

Thanks Thumbs Up

The smallest readily available size rims are 20” to fit over the brake calipers. Think there are some 19” that would fit but not too sure on that. I’m running 255/55/20 General Grabber AT3’s.

Hi Fisha, do you have the Defender alloys fitted to your L405? If so, do you have any pics? 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Just a word of caution for big tyres... The other day I had a combined height sensor and airbag fail and the car dropped to it's bump stops. I was able to drive a short distance to a safe pull over but when I was fixing it I noticed a bit of rub on the arches on my slightly oversized 255/55/R20 so I reckon anything bigger may have rendered the car stuck in the road? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Some pictures … I actually quite like them. They have a slightly wider offset, which counters the smaller rim size looking lost in the arches. I’ve not noticed rubbing as yet. Makes for a nice smooth ride compared to the 22” rims I have.

285/50/20 work well and are probably the largest you can go risk free without rubbing in all modes - plus you can get a spare in the tyre well - any bigger and it’s very unlikely you will 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17
