Keeping Lower Tailgate Open

Is it possible to keep the lower tailgate open and to then close the upper one?

I used to do this on the L322 so that I could stand on the lower tailgate and clean the roof. It was very handy for my kids to stand on at sports day too Laughing 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Yes, as above. I did it on Friday to enable me to pull a fencing panel down from the roof of a garage where I was storing it out of harms way.

LT,

On your avatar of your car you have just the door and rear bumper with the atlas trim. Did you buy your car like that or did it have the vents and you took them off. I would like to source the trim like you have. All LR cars from 1984

That was how it left the factory and how I like it. Thumbs Up

How did you specify it, because my dealer says you can’t just get the door trims you have to have the vents too All LR cars from 1984

Hi Chalky, I didn't, I bought it as is when it was 2.5 years old. Although I have seen plenty of others that are similar. Perhaps it's no longer an option?

Personally, I only like the "gills" to be the same colour as the paint.

I regularly drive past your business on the way to the M4, unless I am mistaking you for another ex D3/4 owner from the same neck of the woods.

Mine is the same, I’ve heard somewhere that it’s not possible on the new cars though for some reason. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hi LT

My business was on the A46 on the left as you come off the M4 going south to Bath. We sold it in 2017, now owned by Unilever. I had a green D4 when I left but I sold it privately so it was there til 2019.

I agree, I prefer the vents body-coloured but like the bits you've got. I couldn't spec it on a new car though. All LR cars from 1984

Chalky- Ah yes, I used to see your Disco's over the years in the car park. Well done for selling out mate Thumbs Up

Hence, the order for a new FFRR I assume. Very Happy

Partly due to selling the business.

I only had 2 Disco's (my wife liked them), all my others have been FFRR's. The L405 is such a step up that's the main reason I changed back. Disco 4 was a great car though. Thumbs Up All LR cars from 1984
