After waiting until the "fuel crisis" was over before filling up at the weekend (having been able to eek-out on the 1/4 tank I had left and using our other car in-between) I was amazed after starting up to see the Range indicate almost 700 miles

I know I had been driving a bit more conservatively recently, but still was astonished at that range forecast. Previous best had been 620 miles. And I always fill to first cut-off, and then dribble more until a few more times just to make sure it is really full  Current

I had all day to do a 500 mile round trip, so decided to challenge myself to some conservative driving, so as soon as I hit the motorway, I hit the trip A button, and kept to a steady 70, sometimes slightly under, no 3rd lane, no cruise, and had no traffic either.... I was seeing 45 mpg after about 50 miles.... and by the time I had got off Mway, and did about 10 miles town driving, then back onto Mway, and all the way home, I was still at 42mpg. had another long trip two days later, and left it, (no reset) and dropped to 40 mpg. I never tend to do the 'brim-the tank' method, and realise the trip meter is inaccurate, but it was encouraging to see these numbers, after a few years with my previous petrol version, always starting with a '1'. the 2012 4.4 tdv8, is a legend of an engine, and I can't see myself thinking one another car choice, for quite some time.

Looking for my first FFRR but the ULEZ is being expanded to the whole of London, meaning the L322 is not compliant. So it will likely be a 5.0SC

TDv6 - cruise control on motorway @70mph and did not budge from 42.4mpg - and that was in Sport mode. Pretty good:

I've just landed back from a 150m roundtrip, mainly motorways but both journeys had periods of standing/slow traffic, I managed 38mpg going and 40 on the way back

Very impressed with that. Onto my 2nd FFRR, this time an L405 5.0L SC AB in SVO Palette black.

I did not record the stats, but 27.35 Miles/US GAL * 20% for Imperial and you get 32.82
That is actual Math(s) - not the dash, which is slightly higher.
We have a few giant fuel stops called Buc-ee's that are out of Texas (of course) Cheap Fuel!

I was just above the 1/4 tank on the gauge - that I don't trust...
511.2 miles on 19.13 'Merica Gallons. Math(s) = 26.72 MPG in probably 60/40 Highway driving.
In Atlanta, nothing is ever truly Highway driving... so let's call it mixed. Add 20% = 32.06
Diesel was $3.39/US Gal

I work from home, and usually save Donna the Diesel for longer runs.
