You could do HPI but it looks like Autotrader already did that. They did on my last car I sold on there as well. I think that is part of the “unlimited” option.

Seems genuine to me. If it was to my liking (purely subjective reasons as I like mine triple black) I would have no concerns just the normal hesitation of meeting a stranger with a lot of money 🤣 But most people are ok and fine.

I'm being slightly pedantic , but, if it is a 'private seller' there's no reference to how long he's had it, what's been done to it, something I would have expected from a 'private seller'. This sounds to me like a part time trader fobbing off as a private seller........that's just the cautiousness in me. The car is high'ish for that mileage, if that was from a bone fide dealer with a decent warranty then it's probably about right.
Not trying to dis the seller, but the advert is a little short of info. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

A great opportunity to ask questions and see how they respond.

I can’t stand it when people ask me questions that were clearly already in the for sale add. Though I count to ten and still answer politely and wait for the next sentence which is an offer at the bottom end of trade price Wink

Hahaha - speaking of which Bl4ckD0g - WBAC suggests £14k. (With the usual assumptions like 6+ months MOT etc.) 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

I'm not sure I can agree with that, subjective points like paint and interior colours aside, the one on AT has 20k fewer miles and is a Vogue SE with extras on top?

Another small point is that the Forum member's car is in Stirling, which would be about an 850 mile round trip for me!

Also someone has PM'd at lunchtime today so it might not be for sale for long...

Fair comment, we all set different priorities/requirements when looking for our next car. For me, being able to reasonably assess overall condition is high up on my list, especially when making a judgment call on whether to invest in travelling serious mileage to view. Too many times I've been disappointed when a sellers description, written and verbal, fails to match expectations and dealers can be more guilty of that than private sellers in my experience. Available cars for sale nearish to where I live in up north is always very limited so almost every viewing involves a long trip for me, e.g that Stirling one would be a 300 mile round trip south and when I bought my TDV8 RRS it was a 1300 mile return trip for the right car.

A FFRR is next on my list too so I'm always somewhat envious of the numbers around to choose from down in England. Good luck with your searches!

When I bought mine I used Cazana to do a used car check. On the full report it tells you how many times it has come up for sale and what price it was advertised at, luckily I found the site I did the check on the car as the previous owner had only had it 8 months and he had been trying to sell it for 6 of the 8 months all at different prices, you can put the reg in and it will tell you if it’s been advertised before with a picture but won’t give the prices or the full description of what the seller put in his advert until you upgrade to a full check never seen that in a car check before and I walked away from the car.

Hope that helps and good luck if you buy it.

Cool suggestion. I just tried it on my own cad and it included accurate images of the car on the previous owner plates. Very impressive.

Thanks - I've had a look but I'm not sure if I'm ready to spring £10 on checking it... I have been tipped off about another blue VSE on a 61 plate, although it's a 12MY car. This other one has done about the same mileage but is one owner and passed every single MOT... Food for thought. 2012 L322 TDV8 Vogue SE: Buckingham Blue

From Memory I bought 4 checks for £19.95 when your ready to pull the trigger on your next pride a joy well worth a look and I’m not associated with them I just like the in-depth detail that the check gives I did the check on my wife’s car nearly 2 years after she had bought it from a main agent and it showed that they had dropped it £4K in four months prior to her buying it.
I am sure you will have a nice Fatty on the drive soon.
