Air suspension

Hi all,

I recently noticed a 'hissing' noise when I would lower the suspension to access mode. Had diagnostics done and the gentlemen said that my driver's side strut needs replacing also the air compressor is working at 45% but should be working at 95% so advised on replacing that also.

A quick search online shows different prices for different makes.

Any recommendations on which make to stay away from or which is preferred. Or should I just go OEM and take it into the local LR Dealer.

Advice and ideas please folks

If it was me I would use original parts from Duckworths (site sponsor, you get a discount and free postage) and fit them myself, it's an easy job, if you don't do DIY any garage should be able to, it's nothing magical or beyond their means... Thumbs Up Pete

He was using some diagnostics SW, did complete check up on the car and the suspension.

He said the compressor was lazy and did try a couple of times to recalibrate the suspension, however the driver's side front wouldn't budge coupled with a lazy compressor

The mobile Indy who did the diagnostics has quoted me double to what the local Indy garage has for the labour

I am being told that as the car has active suspension struts it will need SW update of the latest version for the AMK compressor as well as the height sensors wil need to be recalibrated and this is not what all mechanics would normally do. As they would normally juts update with old SW and not the latest.

Also any idea how long it would take to replace an active suspension strut, this would be for someone at,i would say, expert level, as one person has said 1 hour and one is telling 2 hours.

Does anyone have suggestions of a good Indy who could do this job based around north West London?

The car is currently sitting on the lowest ride height so don't want to drive it to far.
