Well I hope that I am not going to regret this - but I am on my 16th RR, and I have never - ever - had an issue with a V8, and yes we have had engine failures - but never in a V8! 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I think the 2.7's snap the crank and the 3.0's spin the bearings. Was one of the reasons I went for an SD V8. It's most likely not going to happen had I chosen a SDV6, but did not want to take the chance.

The 3.0's snap cranks too.

I’m afraid the sdv6 is one engine I actually won’t go near! I know 2 people who’ve had the crank fail one with a Disco4 and one with a RRS

I've had 2 from new, a 2.7 in a RRS and 3.0 in a D4 and put over 100k on both without issue, the only issue that seems to plague the 4.4 is random pain in the backside coolant leaks that seem difficult to isolate.
