United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver
Whiney A/C

Hi all,
My 2006 L322 supercharged RR has suddenly stopped blowing cold air from the A/C. I took it to the local garage who removed & regassed the system & wasn't showing any leaks but still blew hot air. I have noticed a slight whining noise, it seems from the dash board area which increases & decreases with engine revs. Sticking my head under the bonnet I can't hear a whine.
The engine rev thing is telling me its under the bonnet but I can't find it!
Any pointers or help would be much appreciated

Calvin

Hi rob99
Thank you for your insightful & erudite answer to my query, unfortunately (& this may be due to being new to Range Rovers) I can’t seem to get sarcasm to work. I’ll try again at the weekend but fear it may descend into a Faulty Towers homage with big sticks etc.

If you can't find a big enough dose of sarcasm try a dedicated JLR scanning tool...

There will probably be errors listed... the blend flaps are electric and do fail...

You need a Gap IID tool or something else specific, a generic reader will probably not get far enough into the system to read the HVAC faults...

Oh, and ask for your money back from the garage, he knew as soon as he hooked his gear up that a recharge would do nothing...!!!

Good luck Pete

Hi Pete
Thank you, I’ve just ordered Gap IID tool & look forward to seeing what lurks in the RR memory! It should have been one of the first purchases but the car budget has been in negative equity since buying the RR.

I’ll let you know how it goes

Calvin
