Looking for a mobile inspection

A FFRR I'm interested in buying (as posted in another thread) I have some concerns about, but I don't want to rule it out completely as in principle it's very nice.

Noone spoken to is willing to go out to look at the car, they mandate that it's brought in - which is fine, but the car itself is uninsured and the seller doesn't want to re-insure to take it in, again also fine.

Does anyone know a specialist that can go take a look at a car in Glasgow for me? Obviously a paid job..

If you can't find a specialist, the AA and RAC offer inspections on vehicles that are usually quite detailed and thorough. They inspect it underneath, on top, inside, check the electrics, read the fault codes and take it for a test drive usually.

I've used an AA inspection for a car that was in Manchester and it saved me a load of heartache to the point that I got off the train on the way down and got on the next train back to Glasgow.

Is there anything in particular you want to look at? Could you inspect it well enough yourself?

I would happily use AA, but I want a specialist to look at it.

I know it has a very minor oil leak, so I want to know if possible from where rather than just being told it has one!

Can you take out a days insurance and drive it somewhere with the owner?

I did the same using the Cuvva app on my phone. It was very easy and straight forward and from memory cost around 25 quid. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

I would insure it and take it somewhere but it’s not going to be practical in this situation sadly, it will have to be an on-site inspection or nothing.

Privanthe - did you find a good solution in the end?
