Clicking from front axle area - Not suspension.

I notice a clicking from the front axle area when the window is down and I am navigating through the car park each morning. You can’t feel it through the steering or hear it in normal driving or when the windows are up.

It has been to the dealer 3 times and they say there is nothing wrong with the suspension but the noise is the aluminium underbody protection plate flexing and there is nothing they can do. They looked at it again last week and said they had Re drilled the holes to make them bigger and fitted new bigger bolts to try and stop any movement in the plate. Problem remains.

The car drives perfectly but people do look at me strangely when I am parking.

Has anyone heard of this issue and if so is there a fix. disco 1997 SE7 Tdi [gone]

Sounds to me like the CV joint. When they go you can hear them clicking when turning.

Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Car is still under warranty and has done only 32,000 km and having looked at it 3 times they have said no issues can be found. Just wondering if they focus on the suspension, bushes, etc rather than drive components like the CV. disco 1997 SE7 Tdi [gone]

My thoughts would be take the aluminium plate off, then drive at the same speed you did when you heard the noise. If no noise then look at the CV joints etc. Did they drive the car with plate off to confirm the diagnosis?
If it is the culprit then get them to refit the plate with something like fibre washers, could be wrong, but this sounds like an excuse because they can'f find the problem. Give one of the Indy specialists a call and ask for their advice.
