Are there any folk on here with Vauxhall knowledge?

Admittedly I’ve not seen the car... my nephew who is 17 has a 2008 Corsa and he can’t get it to start. Was fine last weekend he said. He’s posted this on a Vauxhall forum, but got no replies.... any thoughts? Doesn’t sound right to me....

So I have a 2008 1.4 corsa sxi. It's my first car and I took it for it's MOT on 28/06/21. That morning it wouldn't start, the dashboard lights would turn on but the engine wouldn't start. I had it towed to the garage and they couldn't start it either even after trying to jump-start it. They told me the battery is flat and have replaced it. After replacing the battery the engine still won't start and after trying both sets of keys they've told me I need to send it to vauxhall for them to reprogram it. I'm being told by multiple people that this isn't normal and basically doesn't happen so is there anything I can do to sort it myself without needing it reprogramming? 1. Does the engine turn over (battery) ?
2. Is there fuel?
3. Is there a spark? .

Cheers. I think his Dad will just let Vauxhall fix it. I’ve said they need to use a garage that doesn’t make things worse.

I don’t think even a Rangie needs to be reprogrammed if the battery goes flat 😱

Don’t get why they didn’t just charge it up, guess they must have tested it... who knows....

Check the drains on the scuttle area, the ECU is mounted at the nearside there and can get flooded (did the none start happen after heavy rain?). Cheap fix, ebay, buy an ECU and keys kit circa £50 ish, replace ecu and key transponder, job done.

Me and my boy have bought 6 or 7 Corsa's in this state, fixed them as per the above and moved them on for a very tidy profit. BMW i3 Electric Car
