5.0 Supercharged vs 4.4 TDV8 L322

Any real world experience of one of these against the other would be much appreciated. Apart from the obvious yawning gap in the fuel economy or lack of is there anything that would further put anyone off the petrol version?

Always been attracted by the low revving nature of the diesel and wonders if that is carried over into the 5.0

The TDV8 has more torque, as you say, way low down the rpm range. The Supercharged has more power…. But then the TDV8 has the cracking 8 speed gearbox….

In more practical terms, there are a lot less 5.0s to choose from, so you might not manage to get all your boxes ticked colour wise etc.

The Supercharged is Autobiography spec, but the TDV8 can also be had in Vogue and Vogue SE spec.

Thanks for the helpful link! I've not driven the 5.0 or the 4.4. I've had both a 4.4 V8 petrol and a 3.6 TDV8 and liked the petrol very much but obviously no comparison to the SC other than similar fuel consumption.

Is the SC happy with regular short journeys?
