heavy steering

2004 td6 98,000 miles .
My steering is a lot heavier than my p 38 . Ive read the bcm moule ,no faults ,and made sure transport is off .
Thinking of having a go myself, somewhere i read that the steering servotronic valve allows full power steering pressure at parking speeds then gradually reduces it at speed ,
can i check as follows
disconnect the servotronic electrical connection, theoretically the steering should be light?
If not is it possible I have low steering pressure ?
Which is more popular at failing ,bcm, pump steering rack ?
Many thanks to all

Removing the Servotronic valve electrical connector will remove the assistance provided at low / zero speed.
To make it permanently light you need to apply 12v to the valve.
Have a look in the Wiki - there's a lot of guidance on things to check based on plenty of communal experience in the forum Paul,
