The amber "Suspension Fault" light came on. Car looks and drives the same as it has been. On the 4*4 info screen on the infotainment I see this image

I once solved this by disconnecting sensor,contact clean,and battery disconnection.
If not faulty sensor is possible. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

Try changing the height up and down a few times, then...... if still faulty
Firstly, make sure the sensor is in the right position, ( look at both rears for comparison )it may be that it has been 'knocked' by road debris etc.
According to part suppliers, it looks like the rear sensors use the same part for both sides, if all looks OK, then swop over the sensors to see if this moves the fault over, if so, then sensor is faulty.

As for the car trying to 'level up' they can do strange things when there is a fault in the system.

Hi, I’ve just had the same issue on the rear offside sensor, the gap IID diagnosed it as the sensor being faulty. Changed the sensor and then calibrated the suspension and the problem was solved. Can be a pain getting the two torx screws out as they tend to weld themselves into the bracket and sensor. Mines a 2020 model but I think earlier cars have the rear sensor connected using hex or 4mm Allen heads. I also think you have to check if you have cvd as it’s a different sensor, you can tell if it’s CVD if it has a cyclinder at the bottom of the suspension arm. Hope this helps.

Meant to say mines a 2010 model and not 2020 ! Is the car dropping to the bump stops when left parked and then automatically rises to normal height when you start the engine ? That’s what mine was doing until I changed the sensor.

Mine seems to lower the front more than the back overnight but neither front or back is dropped, just lowered from 'Normal' height. It seems to me the ECU is trying to level the car to where it thinks the rear sensor is at Access height. As soon as car is started it lifts right back up and looks and measures near as damn it the same on each corner... drives perfectly normal too. Will let me change to all three height settings as well. I only think it's the N/S/R sensor at fault because the 4*4 info diagram in the infotainment is showing the N/S/R sensor as at the lower limit of its range of movement when it's physically in Standard or Off-road heights. It only stops flashing when the car is physically lowered to Access and that makes me think when the whole car is lowered to Access that N/S/R sensor aligns back up with the other three so stops flashing.

Definitely sounds like a duff sensor, does the fault clear on the dash when you clear it with the IiD tool and then come straight back up in a second ? Mine did that also, I sprayed a ton of penetrating fluid on the screws holding the sensor to the bracket, I think it may even be possible to remove the bracket at the top and then attempt to remove the 2 bolts. I just stuck with getting the bolts out which was a pain, hopefully yours will come straight out and then it’s a two minutes job !

UPDATE:

Just to help anyone else with a similar issue - my problem as shown by the 4*4 Info screen in the infotainment was indeed a N/S/R height sensor faulty. Swaped for a genuine LR new sensor and all is well again. Thanks to all who helped.
