Jumping into the L322 World :)

Hi All,

Thanks adding me to the forum, have been meaning to post this for awhile.

So I decided to jump into the L322 Range Rover world in May this year with the purchase of a 2 owner 105k 2012 TDV8 AB in Sumatra Black with Ivory/Jet seats and as an added bonus it has Deployable side steps.

Having done 6 months of research and searching for the right car I knew what I was getting myself into, the L322 has always been on my bucket list to own and now I've got one and its awesome! No regrets and I have enjoyed doing lots of preventative maintenance over the last 5 months and some of it myself!

Initially purchased:
IID Tool
Rubber Floor and Boot Mats
New Key cases for the two keys
Boven Bluetooth streaming via iPod connector
Tow Trust Towbar with 13 pin electrics

In terms of maintenance it has had:

New AGM Battery
Gearbox Megaflushed
Diff Oils Changed
Oil Cooler O rings replaced
Anti Roll Bars bushes replaced front and rear
Upper & Lower Front Control Arms
ARB Drop links
Rear lower tailgate support straps and strut
Alloy wheel nuts replaced (old ones were swelling)
Front Discs and Pads
Rear Pads
Pollen Filter
Air Filters
Oil Change with Liqui Moly with Oil Saver and Ceratec additive
Rear arch liners removed cleaned and protected with Lanoguard
New weatherstrips to rear wheel arches and one fitted to the front half of the arch
Aquasteel rust convertor and Lanoguard applied on underside

On the todo list:
Drivers Seat rear climate fan unit - Genuine unit being fitted soon
Air Con Compressor - intermittent operation due to faulty pressure switch. OEM replacement being fitted soon
Coolant system flush with new thermostat and water pump
Tailgate High Level Brake light few LEDs are out
Upper Tailgate and bonnet gas struts

Still have some fault codes to sort as well:
IPC Instrument Pack - B12FE-13 - Fan Electrical Failure Open circuit
IPC Intrument Pack - U0128-00 - Lost Comms with parking brake control module
And a couple with the audio amplifier but all speakers seem to be working

Any ideas or suggestions to resolve would be great. None bring up any lights not he dash so not critical/urgent atm

Otherwise, been good a gold and had a some long road trips for holidays and its been great fun. Cool

Thanks again for the add and look forward to posting across other sections as time goes by.

Welcome to the 4.4 tdV8 club., you are in good company on here.
Have you downloaded the Workshop Manual from the wiki yet ? It is your best source of info and free to members.

I would suggest that you investigate the instrument fan failure soon, certainly if you are planning visiting anywhere warm.
Several have suffered TFT failure in hot climates, which I suspect have resulted from fan failure, and it is not cheap to replace.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the message! That sounds good Smile
Just downloaded it, now you mentioned it.

I will have a look at the fan, seems to be a separate unit to the TFT which is good. Had images of removing the upper dash!!
Hopefully accessible from under steering column. :0 Do you know if there is a guide to remove the lower section of the dash?
Will keep searching the forum Smile

Thnanks

How did you get on as I also have the same problem with my 2012 4.4 TDV8.
Code B12FE-13 has come up on the scanner.
Thanx.

Hi, thanks for the message.

Sorted the climate seat, and had AC Compressor replaced by specialist who have looked after vehicle for last 5 years.
I got them to look at the fan fault but couldn’t find any issues to worry about. Said to monitor, perhaps cold weather means the fan isn’t needed as could be temperature related.
While they had it they also recalibrated the sunroof as it wasn’t sitting flush on the rear of opening, sunroof seal will need replacing at some point as it’s starting to lift, common issue I believe.

Still have other items on the list to sort. It sailed though MOT in December with no advisories!
Not done much mileage since MOT, keeping the salt away from it!

Will update on fan fault if it comes back. Sorry couldn’t be more help.
If you find out anything let me know.

Cheers

Thank you for your reply.
My fault says it's intermittent at the moment so not a permanent fault, but a little worrying as I live in Eastern Europe so it gets very hot here.
I will try to look into it further and see what I can find out, It would be nice to plug the scanner in and find no faults Rolling with laughter

Ah yes, whereabouts in Eastern Europe? We head to Kaliningrad every few years in the summer to see family. It gets hot there too, so the heat was also my concern.

Haha yes that would be nice!. I have a few others like audio speakers but they all work so not sure how to resolve that one!?

Good luck
