United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover HSE TDV8 Stornoway Grey
2009 Vogue Steering wheel mod

Morning guys n galls
I’ve just managed to get hold of a new Walnut steering wheel, with matching parchment leather for my 322.
I think it’s going to look really lovely.
Now, one question.
Will the illuminated steering wheel cluster switches from the 10/12 fit and work accordingly?
Size wise I cannot see an issue, because all the steering wheels from 02-12 are the same size, it’s more of a compatibility issue.
Also, while I am at it, I intend to replace the door lining armrest lights, that are on the way out.
Has anyone got any experience of doing this?
Finally, I am fed up of buying “so called faultless “ LED lights for the interior, for them to fail fairly shortly afterwards.
Specifically the footwell puddles, and tailgate.
Is there anyone out there that produces a decent LED retrofit bulb??
Thanks in advance
Si

Hi Si,

The later airbag won’t work if your car was fitted with the original version.

Re the LED’s, a topical and common problem. The only ones that continue to work on mine are the puddle lights. The others make the interior look like a cheap discotheque Laughing

Regards

John

Hi John
Really appreciate your input.
I’m not intending on using another airbag, I’m just trying to ascertain whether the illuminated switch modules, that are separate from the airbag will be compatible.
To be honest, you can pick them up for £30 , so it might be a trial and error exercise.
With regard to the LED’s, I have zero intention of turning my beautiful RR into a mobile pimp me up disco car, with colour changing LED’s!!
Si

You will need to use all the airbag and switches from your current wheel.

Just use the bare new wheel… transfer all your electronics on to it from your current wheel.

Thanks for that!
I was probably aware that it wasn’t possible to use the newer switch modules, but you never know until you’ve tried.
I’ll console myself that the new wheel is absolutely fabulous.
I’m on the lookout for a 11/12 Westminster or SC.
Many thanks for your kind input.
