Best Dealer

I want to purchase a 22my SV and would like any recommendations for a dealer who treats you accordingly when you spend a large sum
South coast preferably but not Harwoods
Any ideas please

I feel your pain, Harwoods of Lewes (now Brighton) are the worst!

I made an enquiry there 6-7 months ago, the salesman wasn't even slightly interested and didn't bother to call me back as agreed.

I've just placed an order with Land Rover Tonbridge following a less than great buying experience elsewhere. They definitely seem better and the contact there has promised to provide me a better standard of service.

If you have no better offers, PM me and I'll send you the Senior Sales Executive's details who I'm dealing with, together with a prompt to him.

I purchased my last 2018 AB from Land Rover Tonbridge and have never been treated so badly hence my original post
Are there any dealers who consistently provide good customer service .
Prepared to travel to be be treated respectfully

That doesn't sound good!

To be honest, in the 20 years that I've owned Range Rovers and moved around the country, having dealt with dealerships from the South Coast and Guildford, to Sheffield and Newcastle, I've never found one that I would ever describe as "good".

Sadly, you just have to get used to it, or buy another brand!

Have you tried Hunters/Inchcape LR in Norwich?

If you drop me a PM, I can give you the details of a guy I dealt with who was really good, always called back and at the time gave the best price and I felt like he wanted my business.

Dick Lovett in Trowbridge were good and although I didn't buy from them, Matfords, Exeter were quite attentive.

Staff at dealerships are getting younger by the day, and I would suspect that most of us are of an older generation where "attentive service" was the norm. Times (unfortunately) have changed as has the amount of time people stay in their jobs, hence the high turnover of staff The chap I dealt with at (the then, Ottons at Salisbury) in 2010 when I bought a new Disco4 was amazing; just like an old style Bank Manager (what happened to them???) who knew the cars inside out, was a part-time farmer and was just very good and a pleasure to talk to! Have to say I found Guy Salmon in Portsmouth to be very good. ( and I live within 2 miles iof Harwoods!!)

I’ve used Harwoods Edenbridge for years, never had an issue with them. Can’t speak for other branches, especially if in large towns.

I too bought my used car from GS in Portsmouth in 2019. I was treated well during the sales process and the car was presented perfectly. I can't vouch for their servicing as Portsmouth is far from where I live and I've been using Barretts in Canterbury for a few years now with whom I'm reasonably content. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

Genuinely found them alright, they were the only dealer that returned my initial call, everyone else either wanted full retail or knocked a token amount off, they didn't, they wanted to do a deal. There was a paint defect on the door identified at handover, they arranged for the repair with my local dealer. This was when they were Hunters, don't know if its changed since they've become Inchcape.

Sadly, everyone will have good and bad to say about experiences with dealerships, with the launch of the new car, can't see their attitude to customers improving, as Chalky said, the demographics of the sales person has changed.

Hendy in Salisbury, speak to Louis (Sales Manager) or Jonny, excellent service for me and always do what they say.

Bought several cars from Louis at his previous location in Christchurch and can't fault the service received.
