FBH setting to pre heat the car

I've got a 2006 TDV8 with the old style FBH fob and when I turn the FBH on with it, the car doesn't get warm.

I can hear the FBH unit working and it does seem to be working as such but doesn't heat the car (Even when it's sub 5 degrees).

I know on the later fob, you can change it from vent to heat but that doesn't seem to work on mine.

Anyone clued up with this?

Did it again this morning. It was on for about 25 minutes and I can hear the bit at the front working (Sounds like a very quiet hot air balloon when firing up).

Car was stone cold still.

Could it be the ventilation/heat setting?

It had new new FBH installed in 2018 so i'd hope it's still working.

I turn up the temp dials the night before to max and I can confirm 100% that it makes a difference.
Others have doubted this but it works for me.

Yeah, I too have heard different things re the dial positioning. Mine never get much above warm. The standard run time is less on the last facelift than on the earlier models.

Mine heats up regardless of the heating dial position, I thought the fuel burning heater ignored the dial setting and was a separate system and can only blow warm air through a bypass in the vent system. If the timed climate is on to cool the car then it’s just the fan that spins to blow cooler air into the cabin. I think the best thing to do if they are playing up is pull the fuse first, that should reset the FBH. Have you checked for the ticking noise at the rear of the car to make sure it’s pumping diesel to the heater ? Hope you manage to resolve it, it’s a great thing to have when the weather gets cold.

Mine does very similar fault too.
I can hear the fbh running, sounds like a mini jet engine & it will run for the 30 minutes, as indicated on the radio screen.

But there’s no heat or fans on in the cabin. I can hear a few motors moving vents or valves I assume & the auto led flashes on the fan speed dial but there’s no heat.
Anyone else had similar?

There isn’t loads of heat come out, just enough to take the edge off and defrost windows. At least that’s how my 2 cars have been.

Not sure if mine works but for a big engine it sure gets up to temps quickly. I have the remote as well but it doesn't seem to connect. Does the system need switching on in the car screen menu for this to be enabled? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

First thing to do is look to see if you’ve got the receiver fitted, it’s in the right hand cubbyhole in boot. I think it’s got t90 or t91 written on it.
Then you need to pair the remote to your receiver, there’s a guide in the wiki but basically you remove power from the receiver usually by removing fuse for it, then when power is restored press the on button within a few seconds, it should flash Green for successful pairing.

Be interesting to see what yours does.

Just looked and it's a T91R. Followed the WIKI instructions and the first thing I found is a flat battery code on the fob LED even though it reads 3v so I'll take it from there. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Yep. Ticking at the back, noisy thing at the front and a solid green light when I turn it on with the fob.

Maybe I should try pulling the fuse for it to see if it resets any issue.

Tried it yesterday morning after putting heating and vents on full and it was still cold.
The car seems to warm up quicker than if I didn't have it on but not by much. (from driving it)

Removed the fuse and reinserted it.
Pressed the on button and it showed me a solid green light.

I can hear the pump at the back of the car (sounds like a quick knocking noise to start with).
