How to make the parking sensors 'live' when slowing down ...

We got our 20k mile, like new, 67' plate RR some months ago. And there have been numerous niggles.

The latest is this:

Parking sensors stop working > LR Assist come out and confirm two sensors need changing > booked in for service anyway, so the new sensors are fitted under warranty.

All looks good so far right? Well - I'm now confused because - before it went in, the parking sensors would go live when the car slowed down, to a crawl, to look for obstacles in front (like Mercedes have done for a long time) - so typically, these cars have to be put into reverse for the sensors to go live. But it was great because they went live just upon slowing down, going forwards.

But the car has now decided to only, automatically, put the sensors live on reverse (like my older Disco 4).

Is there a setting I can choose somewhere to have the sensors go live when slowing down forwards, and not just go live on reverse??? I cannot find a setting.

I don't want to have to call the dealer as it can take two days to hear anything back. Any help MUCH appreciated. '67 Full Fat RR

From the manual:

Quote:
The parking aid system can be set to activate automatically for when:

The vehicle’s speed falls below 10 km/h (6 mph).

Drive (D) is selected.

To enable the auto on feature, select the settings icon (1) to access the PARKING AID SETTINGS pop-up menu. Select Automatic PDC ON.

The settings icon you need is the one on the pop up screen that appears when reversing etc.

Pop it in reverse when stationary to make it appear. (Foot on brake) Laughing FFRR SDV8 Autobiography
