Exactly. Unfortunately the L460 design was clearly (or not) intended to have ghetto glass, because, without it, the rearmost window is even more like a porthole than that on the L405.

Interesting - have anyone seen a picture (or in real life) a new L460 without the privacy glass? How does the rearmost window look like then? If we buy the new L460 PHEV version, we definitely want one without the privacy glass!

Yes - one of the cars on display at Daylesford had clear glass, I’ll see if I can find a picture.

LOL Who would have thought that a black pack is so polarising...A pound shop gangster?

And likewise nobody wants to look like grand dad from a bygone era in his slippers and pipe. It wasn't cool then, it isn't cool today.

Luckily we all have the choice to choose what we like. Funny thing is where I live at the moment in little England is that my previous German cars were regarded even worse than a blacked out Range Rover or Jaguar...But then again our neighbours are also against fast internet, mobile phone masts etc...

Is it the angle, or does the shaded area have sharper corners on that one?

Either way, it looks better. Maybe the Llandudno effect.

It does need the tints, mainly due to the daft looking porthole, but I also don't like how you can see the load cover through the back window, the L405 has the same issue. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Totally agree. The light interior doesn't help either, but those black surrounds on the third windows and the back windows make it look very unbalanced when there is no privacy glass. Just plain ugly to me. And yes the tail window goes too low, don't like any of those silver accents either...

Funny how such a pretty car can look so ugly, but someone will love it...

Saying that I'm still wondering about the OP...DrF do you know the origin of that image as that doesn't look like a black pack to me at all, and those window tints also don't look like factory privacy glass but more like an (illegal?) aftermarket tint.

It’s a factory car (you can see the “Prototype Vehicle” sticker on the tailgate) - the glass seemed quite dark in the flesh on the preview car I saw.

You can legally tint all windows but windscreen (75% transmission) and front sides (70% transmission) as dark as you want, if you’re really keen on the VAT-dodge Irish van look.

LOL As per your own description you can't tint them as dark as you want Wink

BTW Enough of the insults, especially when you start linking it to nationalities. I think you are now letting your own lack of class shine through Wink

The front windows are clearly not tinted or fitted with privacy glass, so how could it be illegal?

Simple fact that turning cars into vans to save tax is popular in Ireland.

Are there any images of this one from the front or side?

Agree - the rearmost window looks a bit like a porthole... Why didn't they black the edges of the rearmost window more like the L322 - straighter lines? Would have fitted better with the simplistic approach... Hope they have a non-privacy glass L460 as well at the preview we'll attend later this month!
