IIDTOOL not seeing engine ECU

My engine management light is on and I have an MOT coming up so I thought I would sort it out.
Plugged in my iidtool but it failed to find the engine ecu, no error message just not in the list of ecu's.

Plugged my icarsoft in and that found and cleared the fault with no problem.

Any one seen this before?

I had the same problem but it was resolved by unlocking/registering the tool as updating the firmware made no difference.
