Media failure

My 2021 AB has recently started to have periodic media failure - so as I drive along the whole media element of the system will stop working, so no radio, USB, Bluetooth or CarPlay. That function on the touch screen stops working and the dash just displays the car picture you normally get on boot up. I have to stop and turn the car off and on again and it sometimes resets. I also get as occasional USB errors - the radio still works but the USBs don’t, again either until I power the car off or sometimes when I unplug and replig the usb.

Recently I had an odd version of the media failure where the whole screen just stopped working - but ironically the media was fine and could be controlled via the dashboard. 20 mins into the drive it just rebooted and then started working again.

Either my car is gaslighting me or I’ve got a gremlin somewhere… any ideas???

As DolphinBoy says, I had terrible problems with the infotainment in my 2018 car which was the first of the facelifts.
My 2021 car however is much better, but even so, occasionally the whole thing has a mind of its own with ACP not working and the bottom screen going blank. It always resolves itself by switching off and restarting (just like an iPhone Whistle ). I suppose we have to live with all this tech which now and again needs rebooting Yawn Yawn
If it persists I'd take into a dealer and hope they have someone who knows what they're doing! All LR cars from 1984

My 2020.5 MY does the same. No reason or logic, just switch off and switch on and it sorts it. 2024 - 2021MY L405 5.0 SC Portofino Blue

Although the car is rather new, check for water leaks from sunroof (if fitted) and earth connection under the left front wheel arch. Also 12V batteries. A diag tool & codes could help a lot.

It might be worth mentioning to check your battery SOH (not just SOC), I had a whole host of electrical er, Gremlins Laughing when I first got my FullFat, including infotainment/maps, but these just vanished when I replaced the weak battery, and the car has been amazingly reliable ever since. (He says, tempting fate Embarassed )
My battery was down to 29% SOH, yet still starting the car fine, but would it hell update anything, software or maps, etc. V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!
