If I had been aware of the compromised handling and braking that is inherent in a 2.7t vehicle I would have moved out of the way quicker when I had previously encountered aggressive, arrogant and self entitled RR drivers bearing down on me at 90mph on the M-way. Just don’t hog lanes and you’ll never feel like you have to move out of the way. Simples.

I never hog lanes but I can see that if I'm overtaking someone at the speed limit and you were coming up behind me at 90mph it may appear that I was lane hogging and for that I'm so sorry I didn't get out of your way fast enough...... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I’m definitely getting old.

For me the joy of the FFRR is to be able to waft along at the legal speed limit, where safe and appropriate to do so and to enjoy the comfort, refinement and luxury without having to keep my eyes peeled for unmarked Police vehicles and fixed/mobile cameras.

I’m in the same boat, although I do sometimes think 80mph on quieter motorways in good weather could be appropriate (and it’s been proposed before, it was only pulled back on due to emissions impacts and potential fines from the EU for breaching agreed targets!) however I stick to the rules mostly as the peace of mind is worth it.

That said……the occasional blast down a de restricted autobahn is fun! The adjustment of driving technique and reading traffic etc is also very different!

Too be honest, driving at 90 on the motorway doesn't make everyone aggressive, arrogant or self entitled. Usually the ones who rear right up your bumper flashing their lights, now those are the ones I agree with you on jaygee. However, I've never ever had anyone in a range rover do that to me, you'll find that is more Audi and BMW drivers. I've never done that, getting back to what I said about cars moving out the way, it's not that I force them, it just seems to me that they do. But then I don't drive my FF that much as I'm busy driving a truck around Europe so I'm used to driving a sedate 56mph. But still, cruising along at 70 is just as nice I find.

Totally agree.

And when someone behind you feels the need to provide a visual and/or audible signal inline with the high way code to make themselves known that they are there when you had plenty of space to move over then guess what, you should have moved over. The only one aggressive, arrogant and self entitled are those who don't move over when they can. The highway code is very clear on that.

In my experience there are only two kinds of driver;
Those who understand they are sharing the road with others and those who think they own the road. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

If everyone just followed the Highway Code for themselves, and focus less on others then we'd all get along just fine. If you can move over just do so, why block someone on purpose. That is just so arrogant and self entitled.

Never thought I’d be the referee 😂, but, I’m sure we all drive in a courteous manner and to the conditions of the road. Always move over if we can, keep to sensible speeds and don’t drive 3ft off the bumper of the car in front when they don’t move over (although sometimes I wonder if that’s how good the new adaptive cruise control is).
