air suspension compressor problems

i have a 54 plate td6 which after having it plugged into diagnostic software telling me the compressor is on its way out as i have had the air supension inactive warning reset twice now.

my car has a round compressor under the spare wheel and i have sourced a rectangular 1 from a 2007 model car but i am unsure as to whether this later compressor will a direct replacement without any further mods to do?
